(IMAGE: melon-whole (5271_5)) Price Order Quantity How to use nail art canesSimply slice the thinnest possible slices from the cane and use whole or cut into smaller pieces as decorative elements within Gel or Acrylic nails. Using Fine Slices and Superfine Slices in clear nail varnish. If you find the canes difficult to cut finely or if you are using them with younger children and you wish to embed them in ordinary nail varnish at home, we recommend "Fine Slices" or "Superfine Slices". *For nail art - home application Attach to the nail using clear nail varnish or top coat If the slice curls, turn the slice over. and glue again. Hold it gently to your nail using a cocktail stick until it sets. Flood round the edges with varnish and brush across the nail. gently sand/buff the edges. Apply top coat. *For body art use a non-toxic body glitter type glue. Attach directly to the skin. Avoid sensitive areas. The history of Angies canes in nail art and crafts"Back in 2007 a nail artist in Germany (who was apparently) also interested in miniatures bought some of my canes (possibly from Soest miniaturist fair) and started experimenting. In the beginning of 2008 this person showed her work to other nail artists and on an internet chat forum called "Salon Geek" Suddenly it seemed the whole of Germany was virtually battering my door down to get their hands on my fruit canes. begging me to make flowers and novelty canes. If you know who this first nail artist was please put us in touch as I would like to thank them and give them credit for their innovation I've largely resisted the novelty canes market but do work closely with another company who does produce these canes with care and attention to detail. However I've welcomed the chance to put my problem solving mind and hands to the challenge of flower canes! People who know me in the miniatures world know that I love a Challenge! I also resisted putting my nail art on my own site which was previously largely miniatures for which I'm better known. But now there is such a significant crossover that the miniature and Nail and craft canes and slices sit side by side and each interest group can find something they can use in their own craft. After all Millefiore canes are what I do! This should also prevent the copyists claiming to have designed canes they are actually copying from me.".
